PRE-THESIS STUDIO

This studio was dedicated to the development of the undergraduate thesis project, with an emphasis on making and site.  My thesis evolved from a dissection of William Cronon's essay, "The Trouble With Wilderness," to a project situated on 5th Avenue in New York City.  Moving forward, I hope blur the line between urban fabric and park space through a choreographic architecture, whether this be by letting the "wildness" take over Central Park naturally or digging out roads underneath the city to spread the "wildness" throughout the city.  My drawings and models from the semester focus on mapping what has existed and what currently exists in Central Park and the surrounding city, and my attempt to study potential manipulations within the site.
